Heli-Skiing/Snowboarding Get far from the madding crowd with a helicopter lift to a number of surrounding peaks you’ll have all to yourself. An opportunity for moderate and expert skier/snowboarders to cap off their Whistler vacation, heli-skiing packages are anything you want them to be … probably more. Trips range from simply getting you up there and back, to excursions including fancy-schmancy lunch on the mountain, videotaped evidence of what put that monster grin on your chops and an aprés over beverages while your group reviews the day’s adventures. |
| Dog
sledding Long before the grinding whine of the first snowmobile broke the icy stillness of the Great White North, a team of sled dogs and the sled they pulled were the station wagon of choice for winter driving. Calling out "gee-haa" (or maybe that was only in the Hollywood version) the musher guided his team along woodland trails and frozen creeks to his destination hundreds of miles away. Why? Ahh, who knows why, but it does look like fun. It’s the kind of riotous fun anyone can have when they come to Whistler. All you have to do is click your heels together three times and say, "Gee-haa!". |

Snowmobiling Snowmobiles are the workhorses of the North during the winter, but they’re also one helluva great way to have fun. Zooming along trails where it’s just you and the wild beyond; plumeing a honkin’ tail of powder when you crank a hard turn in the snow field; screaming at top speed across an ice bound lake . . . these and more are the thrills that make snowmobiling the hugely popular sport it is. The kinds of adventures available in Whistler are only limited by your imagination. And not even then. After all, that’s what snowmobile tour operators are for: to dream up adrenalin-rousing activities that’ll make your Whistler visit the King Kong of vacations. |
