    This modern sculpture/waterfall, created from stone and water, is a tribute to the contributions of the area's military forces and symbolizes the elements of war that unify and divide us.
  4. Rudee Inlet and Marina - Winston-Salem Ave. near Pacific Ave.
    This gateway to the sea is the perfect departure point for a full day of sportfishing, or a two hour boat tour of Virginia Beach and the Chesapeake Bay.

    An actual Life-Saving/Coast Guard Station built in 1903, this museum vividly depicts its history as well as the many shipwrecks of the coast of Virginia Beach.
  6. Norwegian Lady Statue - 25th Street and Atlantic Avenue
    A gift to Virginia Beach from Moss, Norway, this bronze figurehead gazes out to sea, commemorating the tragic wreck of the Norwegian bark, "Dictator."

    The First Landing Cross marks where the Jamestown colonists first touched the shore of the new world in 1607. Built in 1791, Old Cape Henry Lighthouse is the oldest government-built lighthouse in America.

    This park is a beautiful, Spanish moss-draped, 2,700-acre atural area with 27 miles of hiking trails, picnic area and camping.

    Built in 1759 by Thomas Walke III, a prominent gentryman and ratifier of the U.S. Constitution, this brick Georgian-style house holds the memories of family life in the latter half of the 18th century.

    This 17th-century modified hall and parlor house with charming English cottage architecture has historic herb and flower gardens.

    Built in 1725, this is among the very best preserved 18th-century buildings in the U.S.

    The Francis Land House Historic Site and Gardens is a seven acre site that features a 200 year old plantation home, beautiful gardens, flowers and trees, and a wooded area. It is conveniently located along a major thoroughfare and near many restuarants and shopping opportunities.

    As the state's largest aquarium and marine science facility, the museum represents the marine environment in two buildings with over 800,000-gallons of aquariums and live animal habitats, and more than 100 hands-on exhibits. Animal highlights include sharks, sea turtles, harbor seals, stingrays, river otters and more. Named the 1997 "Travel Attraction of the Year" by the Southeast Tourism Society, the Virginia Marine Science Museum is one of the top 10 most-visited aquariums in the country.
  15. Oceana Naval Air Station - Oceana Boulevard or London Bridge Road (757) 433-3131
    Watch the Navy's most sophisticated aircraft land and take off. Oceana is one of the U. S. Navy's four master jet bases and has 22 aviation squadrons. It is home base to the U.S. Navy's F-14 Tomcat fighter planes. Seasonal tours of the Air Station are available.
